   I am trying to install in Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
   Latitude D620
   2 GB RAM
   i am getting following error message

   “Oracle Business Intelligence is not supported on this Windows version. Oracle Business Intelligence is only supported on Windows XP x86, Windows 2003 x86, Windows 2003 AMD64, Windows 2003 EM64T, Windows Vista x86, Windows Vista AMD64, Windows Vista EM64T, and Windows 2000 x86.”

   Will OBIEE supports the standalone database or only oracle applicaitons. Actuvally, i am planning to install the OBIEE in my personal system with out oracle apps vision instance. Please reply.

   If we can connect to standalone database then which verison of the database(9i, 10G, 11G) will support the OBIEE.

   Hi Ramakrisna,

   OBIEE is a Reporting and Dashboard tool and hence fits on any database (SQL,Oracle ,PeopleSoft etc) as long as you can connect to your database using ODBC you can connect to that database.

   I can recomend you to use 10g database.

   Thanks for the earlier reply. While installing the OBIEE, i got the error like.

   Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is incompatable with earlier version installed then i stopped the installation.

   Any suggessions on this error.

   I have installed the OBIEE Successfully. I have opened the administration its asking the administrator passward. But, i havent given this while instalation. Please let me know how to get this passward.

   If you run into the “Oracle Business Intelligence is not supported on this Windows version”, you are probably trying to install on a Dell Latitude laptop. There is a problem with the Broadcom ASF Management program that means that systeminfo.exe crashes, so BI won’t install. I’ve posted the solution on my blog:

   How to solve this issue without upgrading to other versions? Any changes in registry or something that will take care of this issue….

   I am Installing BIEE 1.3..4.x and after the section where it says …
   Installing Oracle Business Intelligence 10.1.3.4.
   the screen has not come back. It is still showing hour glass after 35mins… Is this normal in window or the install is hanging ?
   Pls. let me know if I need to cancel the installation and restart again.
